Gua Sha is a classical Asian method of scraping the skin to invoke a healing response. Resurging in popularity because of rapid results achieved, it provides massage therapists and practitioners with efficient alternatives for acute and chronic myofascial problems. This 8-hour course will cover the contemporary use of the Gua Sha instruments for fast and dramatic myofascial release in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions.


Course Instructor - Arthur T. Walker, DC
Dr. Walker has taught at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Now retired from his successful private practice, Dr. Walker continues teaching and has delivered seminars throughout the US and Canada.Dr. Walker has been approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider. Continuing Education from The CHP Group
For over 25 years CHP has worked to bring relevant education to integrative healthcare providers. As in the past, this continuing education seminar will be FREE to massage providers on the CHP network – one of the many benefits of partnering with CHP.

This class provides eight (8) hours of continuing education for licensed massage providers. This course is limited to 30 participants for each day and is open to CHP network providers only.


Registration

  • Attendees MUST register in advance; walk-ins on the day of class WILL NOT be accepted
  • Registration includes morning snacks and lunch (vegetarian and gluten-free options available); coffee, tea and water will also be available all day
  • Three (two basic and one shark fin) Gua Sha instruments are included with registration

  • Licensed massage providers who want faster results for pain relief, myofascial restrictions and trigger point relief
  • Any massage provider who wants less stress on their own frame and more energy at the end of the day
  • Providers who want to experience excited clients and increased referrals


What to Bring/Wear

  • Wear clothing appropriate for giving and receiving learned massage techniques
  • Bring massage table linens
  • Please indicate in your registration if you can bring a massage table
